Toshiba in Giffarine catalogue, Good news, Good opportunity

Toshiba (Thailand) is exploring new market opportunities in the direct sales network of Giffarine to widen its customer base and boost sales.

The electrical appliance distributor yesterday (9/12/09) signed with Giffarine Skyline Unity Co, the wholly Thai-owned direct sales firm, to put Toshiba products into the Giffarine sales catalogue.

Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, chairwoman of Toshiba (Thailand), said most Toshiba products excluding air purifiers and air-conditioners, would be sold via Giffarine sales representatives starting next week. Available items include white goods and audio-visual products.

''With Giffarine's efficient consumer network, Toshiba's products can easily reach a wider customer group. Direct sales catalogues are recognised as one of the most efficient channels of distribution amid a downturn and Giffarine connects to various income levels,''

Nalinee Paiboon, president of Giffarine Skyline Unity Co, said spending per member is up since September. The company had 180,000 new members in the last four months, up on an average of 20,000 members per month. Purchasing per bill increased to almost 1,000 baht after a second-quarter low of 300 baht.

It would be great if we could see a Toshiba catalogue by the end of this month, hopefully.
